In this blog I will actualy blog stuff. I will be using this to coordinate all my other blogs so if you want to follow my stories (and the contributions of others on the Shattered Worlds: War Torn forums) then you only need to follow this one and it will link you everywhere else.
All my blogs are stories writen mostly by me (Carnifex) with additions made here and there by other people in what is called a bar thread. Each participant can contribute at will and influance the flow of the story. The basic restrictions on this are that each person, although able to create as many characters as they want and make all those character's choices for them, are not alowed in any way to influance the decisions of the characters of any other participant. All posts must be relavent to the story of course, hence the thread structure that esentualy becomes a dynamic narative.
They are not always something great to read, much of the fun is in the writing, but I like to think that a unique and fun process can produce a unique outcome so I reproduce here all the storys I contribute to in a significant way.
Most (if not all) my writing is based in the fictional universe of a game called Freelancer begun by Digital Anval and finnished (ie: ruined) by Microsoft when they bought DA out. In it colony ships fled a sol almost completely anhilated by over a century of all out war between to opposing super powers in a last ditch atempt to escape and start out anew. They arived in the sirius sector, five ships in all, and each picked their own system to call their new home. Over 800 years they have grown into four great houses spanning dozens of systems and at the distant edges of the sector the Outcasts and Corsairs live, both child races of the same damaged sleeper ship but locked in a blood feud. In recent years aliens have been encountered. Nomads. Their origens go back hundreds of thousands of years, the creations of another alien race the Dam'Kavosh (spellings vary) who were very advanced but mysteriously disappeared long long before man achieved space flight. The Nomads see humans as an infection in their space and seek to eliminate them in any way possible. This is where my stories are set.
My existing blogs at this time are as follows:
Guns, Germs and Radiation Resistant Super Alloys
This blog is the story of my main character Carnifex, a Bounty Hunter and ex-Lane Hacker criminal, and his escapades through the Sirius sector. At the moment it's very far from finnished. More updates as time goes on.
Chasing Monsters
This is one of the oldest stories I have, parts of it anyway. The main character is called Perez and is a member of the secret organisation the Order whos charge it is to keep the Nomad threat at bay if not bring it to a complete end. It is the story of Perez and his search for a few Nomad infiltrators out to sow havoc in the houses of Sirius.
The War
Not the most imaginative title I know. The story of the war between Liberty and her ally Bretonia and Kusari (with Rhienland sticking it's nose in now and then). Main character Cravic, Admiral of the Liberty Navy. This thread has been taken through to it's conclusion and so is 'complete'.
Operation Full Circle
This is an aside to 'The War'. The starting plot was not my idea by the way it was IL's. A remote construction site that was set up before the war is now behind enemy lines and under constant attack despite still suporting a native workforce. The CEO of Samura, Kusari's biggest corporation (and political influancer) comes to rescue his employees and capture some secret documents while he's at it.
Yet Another Shadow
This is the aftermath of 'The War' following the attempted assassination of Cravic and the covert take over of the government by elements of the Liberty Police. Cravic is out to get revenge and set things back in the 'rightful order'.
The Last Days of the Kusari Empire
This jumps foward a bit from 'The War' and happens part way through the events of 'Yet Another Shadow'. Kusari is in political and military turmoil and begins to totter on the brink of selfanhilation even as their longest standing enemy, the Blood Dragons, and their allies crush them from without. Seen through the eyes of Carnifex (long after the events curently chronicaled in 'G.G.R.R.S.A.').
The Cardimine War
This thread comes after the events of 'The Last Days of the Kusari Empire' and focuses on the infuence of cardimine, a potent drug that geneticaly modifies the user to become fully dependent on it, meaning death if a user stops. It creates fearlessness and feelings of invincibility which makes it the driving force of the Outcasts and their soldiers.

This is a wonderful concept including the writings of others and collating all the diversions of one world here! I have never heard of the term "bar thread" but I am intrigued. Please keep writing!
